These pictures, taken by Jeff Schindler, are of real pumpkins, lit by candles. All of these pumpkins, each weighing 50 pounds or more, were carved on October 30th, 2004 by a consortium of 30 volunteer carvers and 5 scoopers. Starting at 10:00 a.m. and finishing at 6:00 p.m., 50 musical pumpkins were patterned and carved. In addition, 8 famous paintings and one famous photograph were also patterned and carved. All of this was done at Phyllis' Musical Inn, 1800 W Division Steet in Chicago, Illinois. Clicky-click on the thumbnail images to reveal the subject and artist for each gourd.
